I’ve always been drawn to old things – objects, homes, and fabrics that carry a story.
I’m fascinated by how people lived in ancient Latvia. What did they wear? How did they survive long winters? What materials did they use?
From archaeological fragments dating back to the 7th–8th centuries, we know that linen and wool were the main fabrics used in this region. These natural materials were durable, local, and meaningful.
For me, linen is more than just a fabric. It carries the wisdom of generations. It connects the past to the present.
That’s why I chose to work with linen – because I believe in the quiet beauty of what lasts.
